We added two sensors for monitoring Windows software and hotfixes. Besides collecting information about all installed hotfixes and software, they can notify you about new software installed or upgraded.
You can find a list of installed software in Node Status > System Views > Software,
and hotfixes can be found in Node Status > System Views > Hotfixes.
These sensors require a Windows Inventory
license or Config Sensor
license.
We added a new view for any group of nodes in the atlas showing Software Inventory and Hotfixes. You can easily find all software (Windows) installed on a given machine group. You can also quickly check which hotfixes have been installed and where.
NetCrunch allows monitoring the status of NQA tests (similar to Cisco IP SLA operations) on Huawei devices. The feature also comes with new IP SLA/NQA visualization.
The registry sensors add ups to the list of NetCrunch security features. New Windows Registry Sensor complements the previously implemented Windows Registry Counters Sensor. It allows monitoring of whether a specific registry has been added or value has been modified by checking if
Node Icon view now resembles the view of auto-maps
in NetCrunch 11 but in a much more modern way.
The view supports multi-selection now.
Now, multiple users can change monitoring policies without waiting for another user to finish.
Especially when users edit different nodes or policies, it's a 100% safe operation. In rare cases, when two users operate on the same object (node or policy), the changes might overlap, so the latest change is applied.
In most cases, NetCrunch merges changes made by various users without any conflicts. We also added a small indicator informing you if another user is editing the same node.
You can create a Monitoring Pack for a given sensor and then apply it to nodes where the given sensor is defined. The monitoring pack can be dynamic, so when the sensor is defined, it will use alerts from the monitoring pack.
The feature dramatically simplifies setting sensors on multiple nodes especially used with multi-selection.
NetCrunch reads the interface speed from the device, but often the actual available bandwidth is much lower and is determined by the provider. In such cases, you can override the speed value in the setting (Seetings > Monitoring > Interface Monitoring Settings
) so the bandwidth usage displays the real value.
Now you can choose the layout that best fits your network structure. NetCrunch offers layouts such as
By default, NetCrunch tries to pick the best layout. However, users can override it or rearrange nodes manually. In this case, NetCrunch will lock the manually arranged nodes in place and try to lay out newly discovered nodes around them.

A new view has been created to give you a constant view of the latest active alerts. The view can be used in the Automated Full Screen
scenario and supports dark mode.
We added a new column to the Active Alert View, so you can quickly find any issues related to notifications or other alerting actions.
Using included symbols, you can apply classic Cisco icons for nodes or Graphical Views.
NetCrunch can draw over 35 predefined shapes, including irregular ones, that you can use for group backgrounds.
The new version brings many improvements to the Graphical Views editor, such as
Use it to easily add a link to another view and create navigation between various Graphical Views. The link has two display modes to choose from.
NetCrunch offers a variety of connection lines for drawing any diagram you need. New feature includes
Additionally, connections are active now through references.
You can now link the visual object in Graphical View, such as shape, picture, symbol, or line, to NetCrunch state objects (nodes, interfaces, sensors, alerts, services, etc.) and set properties for each state separately.
For example, a line can change color and style if there is no connection to a website or any other service.
Thanks to references you can now put a picture or shape indicating the state of the object (for example camera) and after clicking on the element you get details about the object (camera snapshot image).
Symbols, pictures, and shapes support versatile attention-grabbing effects. You can
Animation can be perpetual or appear only when the element state changes.
There are many drawing programs available, but most of them lack specific features needed for network and IT diagrams. They are focusing mostly on drawing static images.
NetCrunch offers unique drawing and data linking features that bring any diagram to life as it can present actual element state and data in near real-time.
NetCrunch always required a desktop console to manage settings, including passwords, as it provides out-of-the-box encryption.
You should also configure Web Console with a secure SSL certificate. It will provide even higher security protection than built-in desktop console encryption.
Now you can connect your desktop console using standard HTTPS protocol through your NetCrunch Web Server secured with an SSL certificate.
We brought you some benefits of the cloud without the high cost and risk of storing data in the cloud. You can connect to your NetCrunch anywhere using a browser or with Desktop Console.
Your NetCrunch server can connect (Settings > NetCrunch System > Connections
) to a global secure private network designated for NetCrunch connections. All connections are secured with 4096-bit encryption and use secure SSL certificates. Currently, you can use it for connection to Web Console or Desktop Console, but in the final version, you will be able to use it for sending data to NetCrunch (webhooks, data, API).
The new version comes with many performance improvements and fixes. The most significant improvements are related to
